Helpful Hint for Parents

 Helpful Hints:

Try to set up a weekly schedule to establish good practice habits with your child.

Remind your child to practice in the order left column to right.  This develops correct warm-up procedures and helps build technique and tone development.

Many CD books with popular movie hits are available at local music stores.  Contact your child's lesson teacher for more information.

Visit Mrs. Tallman's Blackboard site for fun tutorials and web links.  This will also help your child complete his/her ribbon benchmark assignments.  Band music is available on the site to play along with or download on ipods.

Students love to put on concerts for family members.  (or place a call to grandparents)

If you feel your child is losing interest contact his/her lesson teacher for more helpful tips.
