The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is committed to making sure that all students receive a quality education within the framework of their individual needs. The district provides a free and appropriate public education to students with disabilities, in the least restrictive environment, in accordance with Part 200 of Commissioner's Regulations, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
The district provides a full range of special education programs and related services, at times, in conjunction with Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES, including:

Referral process for students with possible special needs 1. A parent and/or teacher seeking support services for a student who may need services or accommodations beyond the regular education program will contact the building school psychologist. 2. With parent permission, the school psychologist will refer the child to the building Pupil Personnel Services Team. 3. The PPS team will meet on the student, and a plan to address the concerns will be developed. 4. The school psychologist will meet with parents and share the PPS plan. During this meeting, the full continuum of support services will be discussed, including eligibility for: 5. If the decision is made to refer the child to the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or for accommodations under Section 504, consent will be sent to parents and the components of a comprehensive evaluation will be explained by the school psychologist. At any time during this process, parents have the right to request a comprehensive psychological evaluation.
