School News Notifier

The Fayetteville-Manlius School News Notifier (SNN) system is designed to help parents and other community members stay in touch with what is happening within the Fayetteville-Manlius School District.

SNN is an opt-in email alert system, meaning residents must sign up to receive email alerts from the district. These alerts can include everything from school closings to the latest news from the district and individual schools. Users can choose which alerts they wish to receive, and they can unsubscribe at any time.

**Your email address will be kept confidential.**

Will parents still receive telephone alerts about school closings and delays through Connect Ed?
Yes, we will use both systems - Connect Ed. and SNN - to notify parents about emergency school closings and delays. We chose to continue with Connect Ed., because no sign-up is required. Essentially, all parents will receive phone calls about emergency closings and delays just as they did before. In addition, if you sign up for SNN and choose the Emergency Notification alert, you will receive an e-mail and a text message (assuming you have listed your cell phone number on the sign-up page). This improves our chances of reaching everyone during a school closing. It also allows not only parents, but also grandparents and other caregivers to receive this notification.

Why does my email program think SNN notifications are junk mail?
Some email programs or providers are very aggressive about identifying spam or junk mail. Our SNN return email is a valid email address called notifier@fmschools.org. However, it is possible that your email program might put messages from this address into your spam folder. To help eliminate this possibility, please add notifier@fmschools.org to your email "whitelist" or list of trusted senders.
