Believe it or not, summer is right around the bend and students are looking for positive and productive ways to spend their summer time off. Pre-College Summer Program Opportunities for Students includes a comprehensive listing of camps and summer programs listed by interest area and state, with direct links to each program for detailed information. SAT and ACT test dates and deadlines for the remainder of the 2013 school year, as well as the upcoming test dates for next year (2013-2014) are posted for your information and planning. Most students register online at www.collegeboard.com or at www.actstudent.org. We are pleased to announce that we are providing a free online course to help students build their SAT/ACT, math, reading and writing skills. Using this link, Method Test Prep,(which can also be accessed through Naviance and the Counseling Center webpage), students can set up an account that will keep track of all the work he or she has completed. Method Test Prep is interactive, time efficient, and uses proven strategies that are clear and easy to understand for any type of learner. Using technology, students are more engaged and their time is focused on areas in need of improvement. The website is available 24/7 and is designed to be used independently or as a supplement to other SAT or ACT prep. The Dignity for All Students Act went into effect on July 1, 2012. The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is taking steps to ensure that all our students, faculty, and staff are aware of this new law. Making sure all students are attending school in a setting that is free from bullying, harassment, and intimidation is a top priority and is central to the standard of excellence for which F-M prides itself.
