District recognized nationally for communications
The National School Public Relations Association has recognized the Fayetteville-Manlius School District with four awards for its communications efforts.
NSPRA’s 2012 Publications and Electronic Media Contest recognizes outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, electronic media programs, radio/TV/cable, CD/DVD programs and internet websites. The contest is open to all public or private schools and school districts. There were 701 entries total and 537 entries in the publications portion.
F-M received two awards in the Excellence in Writing category, one in the Finance Publication category and one in the Print Newsletter – External Audience category.
The association recognized 15 publications in the Finance Publication category. The F-M News May 2012 Budget Edition was one of seven publications to win an Award of Merit in that category.
Of the 25 districts recognized in the Print Newsletter – External Audience category, F-M’s community newsletter, F-M News, was one of 10 newsletter entries to receive an Award of Merit.
Two news articles posted on the F-M district website won awards in the Excellence in Writing category. Of the 24 articles recognized, F-M received an Award of Merit for “Differentiated instruction expert visits F-M” and an Award of Honorable Mention for “Build it Bigger host makes big impression on Wellwood students.”
