F-M High School dismissed due to power loss; after-school activities will take place as scheduled
Due to loss of power, F-M High School students will be dismissed early today, Wednesday, May 22, at 9:15 a.m. Buses will pick students up at the high school and drop them off at their regular stops. All other schools are running on a regular session.All extracurricular activities, sporting events and concerts scheduled at the high school for this evening will take place as planned.

F-M voters approve $76.4 million budget; decide on seven other propositions
On May 21, Fayetteville-Manlius School District voters approved the district’s $76.4 million 2013-14 budget proposal, elected three Board of Education members and voted upon six other propositions. Wellwood author visit was pure poetry
Author Sally Valentine visited Wellwood Middle School on May 1 and conducted a poetry workshop with 65 students in grades five through eight as well as some faculty members and parents. The visit was sponsored by the Wellwood Home School Association. Ms. Valentine shared her children’s mystery adventure book series as well as her latest collection of poems, “There Are No Buffalo in Buffalo.” It contains 78 poems, each one about a different place in New York State. F-M bus drivers driven to compete in special needs bus “roadeo”
Serpentine. Back alley dock. Railroad crossings. These driving terms may not be familiar to the casual driver. But, successfully navigating through those obstacles while driving a special needs school bus helped Fayetteville-Manlius school bus driver Christie Hrynio and bus assistant Sherry Cooper place first in the state-wide Special Needs Team Safety “Roadeo” in July 2012.
