F-M Hornets Sting Out Cancer Month games to be held May 4 and 8

May, F-M athletic teams will show their support for cancer research and
awareness by selecting one of their home games as a “Sting Out” event. Prior to

competed in the 23rd Annual Green Construction Groups Balsa Wood
Bridge Competition held at the State University of New York College of

literacy initiative this summer thanks to $100,000 in additional state aid
secured by Assemblyman Al Stirpe.
As budgets dwindled over the past several years, F-M

Voters decide May 21 on new capital reserve fund

Fayetteville-Manlius School District will be asking voters to decide on the
creation of a new $10 million capital reserve fund.
A capital reserve
fund allows school districts to set aside money for future construction
projects and major purchases. Most school districts have capital reserve funds,
and in 2010, F-M residents voted to create a $5 million capital reserve fund.

F-M senior breaks career goal scoring record for lacrosse

May 4, Fayetteville-Manlius High School senior Kevin Lux scored his 144th
goal as a member of the F-M boys varsity lacrosse team, breaking the school’s
all-time career goal scoring record set 31 years ago.
