Members of Fayetteville-Manlius High School’s Patriot Club spent time fundraising and volunteering to honor U.S. military veterans.
On Nov. 9, students helped serve breakfast to more than 500 veterans at the 17th Annual CNY Veterans Expo in Syracuse. The Expo offers free breakfast to veterans who attend and features hands-on exhibits, informational displays and presentations about services available to veterans.
Patriot Club members also recently held a cupcake sale fundraiser and collected monetary donations to benefit Disabled American Veterans (DAV). DAV is a not-for-profit organization that supports disabled veterans and their families.
Thanks to the generosity of F-M students, staff and community members, Patriot Club raised more than $500 for DAV.
As part of the fundraiser and to commemorate those who have served, students placed more than 20 American flags in front of F-M High School.
F-M’s Patriot Club includes 20 student members this year. The club lends support to active duty military personnel and veterans by honoring their service and sacrifice.
