An evening presentation focusing on the prevention of underage drinking will be held May 3 for Fayetteville-Manlius parents and guardians.
An extension of the national DWI prevention program “Every 15 Minutes”, the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the F-M High School Auditorium and will feature a presentation by members of Manlius and Fayetteville fire departments, and a screening of the “Every 15 Minutes” video that was filmed at F-M High School earlier this month.
On April 19, F-M High School students participated in a mock motor vehicle accident that was staged in their school’s parking lot. Cameras filmed the event – and the consequences that followed – and the footage was transformed into a driving while distracted prevention video.
With prom, graduation and a variety of other celebrations soon taking place, parents through the presentation can learn more about the role they can play in preventing underage drinking.
