From the Superintendent
On behalf of the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District, I am pleased to share the district’s 2020-21 Annual Report. This report is intended to give our community a snapshot of our district and the progress we made on the goals and objectives identified in our 2020-23 Strategic Plan.
The 2020-21 school year was a year filled with changes as we navigated teaching and learning during a global pandemic. With each change, we looked to our strategic plan to maintain our focus on our four priority areas of teaching and learning, school environment, service learning and community partnerships, and fiscal capacity and responsibility.
Each area has its own goals and objectives at the district and building level, and they serve as the foundation to support our mission and vision for the district, which is to inspire students and promote personal success. Some of the plan’s goals are intended to be achieved within one school year. Others may span over multiple years. At the end of each academic year, our administrative team reviews our progress with their faculty members and then updates the plan as necessary.
In the pages that follow, we have captured highlights of the strategic plan work that took place during the 2020-21 school year. Our staff, students and students’ families showed their resiliency, creativity and flexibility as COVID-19 forced us to pivot several times how and when we offered instruction, student support programs, extracurricular activities and athletics. I am proud of how our school and greater community pulled together to keep our students and staff safe and healthy in a time of such uncertainty.
We know there will be more challenges as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus and move forward with our diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. We will use our strategic plan to guide us in rising to the challenges ahead, and we will become a stronger community because we will rise together.
Warmest regards,
Craig J. Tice, Superintendent
