Dust off those dance shoes and join Fayetteville-Manlius High School students at the community-wide Dance Marathon kick-off event at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, in the high school auditorium.
This annual fundraiser, which raised $100,000 last year, couples philanthropy with dancing to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times. Each marathon contestant is required to fundraise at least $50.
During the assembly, F-M students speak about the impact the F-M fundraiser has on Camp Good Days, a not-for-profit organization that provides a summer camp experience to children whose lives have been affected by a cancer diagnosis. Dance Marathon MC’s (masters of ceremonies) will show a video they made and perform a dance routine choreographed by F-M students.
F-M has been participating in Dance Marathon and challenging students’ endurance with this 12-hour dance event for more than 30 years. This is the 29th year it will benefit Camp Good Days. This year’s Dance Marathon will be held on Saturday, March 17.
