Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District students were recently recognized with a total of 144 awards in the 2025 Central New York Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition.
In total, 4,555 pieces were submitted and judges selected the top 1,300 works to win awards in 17 categories. The Scholastic Art Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for teens in grades 7-12.
F-M students earned 24 Gold Key Awards (18 at the high school), 45 Silver Key Awards (34 at the high school), and 75 Honorable Mentions (58 at the high school). FMHS students also took home 4 Portfolio Silver Key Awards and 2 Portfolio Honorable Mentions.
The Central New York Region includes 14 counties. Judges evaluate entries for their originality, technical skill and the emergence of personal voice or vision, according to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards website.
Works that earned a Gold Key Award are automatically considered for national awards. The 2025 Awards Exhibit is on display at the Whitney Applied Technology Center at Onondaga Community College through February 28. The Manlius Library will be showcasing F-M CNY Scholastic artwork after that, from March 3-30.
