District aware of unfounded threats made to schools across CNY

The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is aware of a threat that has been sent to several school districts across Central New York. The threat named F-M High School and nine other district high schools, claiming a bomb had been placed at two locations. According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, the threats are unfounded, and they believe the threat came from overseas.

Though the threats are baseless, because F-M has been named in the threat, the district is on heightened alert. As such, school officials and SIROs/SPOs conducted a sweep of the building in the midst of  a brief shelter-in-place during which the faculty and staff discretely checked their own instructional spaces. The safety of students and staff is always our top priority and we continue to work closely with our school resource officers and local law enforcement partners to maintain a secure school environment.

All members of the F-M community are encouraged to remain vigilant. If you hear or see something, say something. Please contact local law enforcement and notify a staff member if you observe suspicious activity or concerning behavior. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in ensuring the safety of our school community.
