Fayetteville-Manlius School District has been honored by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) as a School of Distinction’ for the 2023-24 school year.
Earning School of Distinction status means 100% of F-M’s varsity sports teams were labeled Scholar-Athlete teams during their respective sports seasons. To be a Scholar-Athlete team, the average GPA for 75% of the team roster must be at least 90. F-M has 30 varsity teams, and all of them were designated Scholar-Athlete teams during their 2023-24 seasons.
This year, 114 schools earned the School of Distinction Award, an increased number from the 2022-2023 school year, when 84 schools earned the distinction. Winning schools will receive their commemorative awards this fall.
