The Fayetteville-Manlius School District, while conducting an internal audit during the last school year, discovered discrepancies in purchases made by then School Lunch Manager Adam Jarosz.
Following an internal investigation, which included a forensic audit, the district reported the alleged misappropriation to the Town of Manlius Police Department. The F-M Board of Education subsequently accepted the resignation of Mr. Jarosz, effective April 5, 2024.
According to the Town of Manlius Police Department, their investigation revealed Mr. Jarosz allegedly misappropriated an estimated $45,000 of district funds and assets. The Town of Manlius Police Department recently arrested and charged Mr. Jarosz with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a Class D Felony and Falsifying Business Records, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Procedural safeguards were in place at the time this former employee allegedly misappropriated school district funds. With that said, the district continues to review its protocols and controls to help ensure similar conduct does not occur in the future. The district has cooperated with the authorities and would like to thank the Town of Manlius Police Department for its assistance with this investigation.

Following an internal review, the district notified the Manlius Police Department and has been cooperating with police in their investigation regarding this matter.
