Parents and guardians who make online payments to their student’s cafeteria accounts through MySchoolBucks will soon notice a higher transaction processing fee. Beginning March 7th, the per-transaction fee will increase from $2.75 to $3.25 for credit/debit transactions and will increase from $2.49 to $2.75 for e-check transactions. Payment via cash or check can also be given directly to the district without a fee. If you send cash or a check to school with your student, please note:
- High school students can only hand in cash or a check directly to cafeteria personnel;
- Elementary and middle school students can hand in cash or a check to cafeteria personnel, a teacher, or a school secretary;
- Any parents/guardians can send cash or a check via mail directly to their student’s school, with attention to food services.
Any parents/guardians with an active account should have received a notification via email from Heartland detailing these changes. If parents/guardians make payments for more than one student in the same transaction, they will only be charged one fee.
According to MySchoolBucks, the fee increase is due to rising payment processing interchange fees and increases in operational costs. If you have questions, the MySchoolBucks support team can be reached at 855-832-5226.
